Though The Bellas didn’t win their way to the finals, they were advanced through because a top three team cheated, therefore, allowing The Bellas to compete in the final competition. Beca gets in trouble for almost dating one of its members, Jesse (Skylar Astin), but soon rejoins the team just in time for The Bellas to advance to the finals. They’re joined by the male performers which include the team from Barden, The Treblemakers. The Bellas go on to compete at the ICCA, Collegiate A capella Championship, and instead of trying something new and unique, their team continues to use the same song they performed the year prior. But when she auditioned, she blew the captains and team away with her high notes and in-tune vocals, leading her to join the team.
At first, Beca was reluctant to join, as her perspective about competing in music wasn’t favorable.
So after Chloe (Brittany Snow) heard her singing in the shower, she was inclined to join the a capella group, The Barden Bellas. When Beca (Anna Kendrick) started her time at Barden University, her love for music was already instilled.
